Tez2, a known Rockstar insider and the person who broke the news Upcoming PC port of Red Dead Redemption 1participate in the conversation about the RDR2 update in the GTA Forums.
In a chat speculating about if and when we’ll see an RDR2 update, Tez2 confirmed Rockstar said that Rockstar had started working on the update, but has paused it to focus on GTA6, “it will likely arrive after VI. We know that the next-gen version of RDR2 was in development but has been halted, just like the RDO updates.
What could Red Dead Redemption 2’s next-gen update include?
He then went on to explain how this could lead to a more feature-rich Red Dead Redemption 2 next-gen update. “The VI will include all the upgrades intended for the next-gen version of RDR2. So, after the VI is released, Rockstar can turn around and integrate some of these upgrades into RDR2 on current-gen consoles. Rockstar Editor is one example.
