There’s a new swamp cure in Universal Studios OrlandoThe newly opened Dreamworks Land is a tribute to a partner In the strangest and most disturbing way. It’s Mike Myers’ ogre-faced pretzel inspired by the hit fantasy parody series — “Shrekzel,” as it became known online by theme park foodies — and we had to have it.
See, part of a park reporter’s job is to try out synergistic desserts and drinks that are offered to tie in with movies and TV. We’ve experienced the good and the bad – both… star Wars ration, Halloween Horror Nights is a scary treata Dolls Lab Green Pickle (One Hundred Yard Stare)And, in this case, the shrekzel…which comes complete with green ear cheese as pictured below. Get ready for your jump scares:
It’s very disturbing to look at because you start wondering if the donkey has gone to a ghoul massacre (ghoul massacre?) after picking it up one day and the dragon is gone from all Mrs. Lovett Sweeney Todd With him. Looks amazingly like the peeling face of beloved hero and father Shrek! Did everything go well? Dragon House? Seriously, it’s like they fried the ghoul’s face and dipped it in earwax. Where are Fiona and the kids? Did the Greens lose?
Regardless of canon speculation, Shrekzel is about the size of a mask, as you can see. As for the green cheese slime accompaniment, it was a relief to discover that it had a milkier consistency than the plastic neon green cheese – but it was a bit like the pea-coloured mucus you get from being very sick. If you don’t think about it too much, it’s good for theme park cheesecake, making the pretzel both gooey and satisfying at the same time.
Overall, Shrekzel is the standard baked good at theme parks — and don’t worry, it doesn’t taste like an onion at all, though Dreamworks Land should consider adding a different kind of flavor to honor Shrek’s emotional layers. Even one person could Finish it off, this is definitely the kind of park snack meant for sharing; At Universal Studios Florida, where there’s plenty of movie-themed food, you don’t want to limit yourself to bread. Leave room for the many other fun treats found in the park as well, like desserts at the Summer Blockbuster commemorative shop inspired by movies like Back to the future, Eastern time, And Jaws. We didn’t get to try it thanks to Shrek’s fried face, but next time we’ll be sure to eat ET
The atmosphere of Shrekzel is deranged and is worth getting from the visuals alone. It fits the non-serious parody nature of the franchise, as a nightmarish-looking alternative to the cute, mouse-faced pastries at other Orlando parks. Discover Shrekzel and more movie shows at Universal Studios Orlando this summer!
