Makes our choice for In the form of Soundcore Space A40. This model is now an even more tempting offer, as it has fallen to its lowest price ever. You can catch Now for $40. The earbuds typically cost $80, so you’ll save $31.
Our favorite budget earbuds are now even more attractive as they have dropped to their lowest price ever.
Since the Space A40 has the features you’d find in more expensive earbuds, we actually felt like they offered great value, so this is a pretty solid deal. The earbuds are lightweight, and we believe they should be comfortable to wear for long periods. You won’t hear as much detail as you might get from high-end options, but that’s to be expected. What you’ll get is an all-around warm sound profile that does a decent job on the bottom end.
You’ll be able to adjust the EQ settings in the Soundcore app if you want to put more of a load on the bass or treble. You can also customize the touch controls through the app.
In terms of durability, these earbuds have an IPX4 water resistance rating, which is at least enough to protect them from daily sweat and light rain. It is possible to connect them to two devices at the same time and you can use each earbud independently. Battery life isn’t bad either as the buds will run for about eight hours before you have to put them back in the charging case (which has wireless charging support and can charge the earbuds for another 40 hours or so of listening time).
The best feature of the Space A40 is its active noise cancellation (ANC), which provides great performance for earbuds at this price. There’s adaptive ANC technology that adjusts the intensity of noise cancellation based on your surroundings, though it won’t completely block out high-pitched sounds. You can manually adjust the ANC level as well. There’s also a transparency mode, which is decent enough.
Although you can make phone calls using these earbuds, the microphone quality is not great. The lack of automatic pausing when you remove the earbud is also a disappointment. However, these are relatively minor complaints for a set of earbuds that are considered great value.
